Meyerton Shooting Claims Six lives, leaves Eighteen Injured

A tragic shooting occurred on the R59 highway near Meyerton, Johannesburg, on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of six people and leaving around eighteen others injured. The victims were identified as Lesotho nationals traveling in a bus from Johannesburg to Lesotho when their vehicle was attacked by occupants of a white car.

According to Gauteng SAPS Deputy Commissioner Major-General Fred Kekana, the bus was intercepted without provocation. The bus driver attempted to escape, but the attackers pursued the vehicle, leading to chaos on the highway.

Emergency services responded quickly to the scene, and police have since arrested two suspects in relation to the shooting. A heavy police presence remains in the area as the investigation continues.
