Police Deny Forcible Removal of Hawks Head Senona

KwaZulu-Natal police say Major General Lesetja Senona, head of the Hawks, was not forcibly removed from his office. Instead, police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said Senona chose to leave after security raised concerns about him parking improperly and entering the building without signing the required log.
At the same time, Senona’s lawyers are looking into his removal, which they are calling unlawful. His attorney, Rudolph Baloyi, claims an officer told Senona to leave his office and took his laptop without the right authority. Baloyi pointed out that only Senona’s employer can suspend him, and since he hasn’t received a formal suspension, the actions taken against him were not valid. Senona also expressed worry for his safety after he was followed home after the incident.
